In fond memory of Eric Carle, and his famous book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", today we're making our own small caterpillar laying on a leaf. While it dries, we'll snuggle up to read some of our favorite Eric Carle book.

Are Caterpillars Really Hungry?
Yes! Caterpillars do have a very important job - EATING!
Do hungry Caterpillars really like to eat chocolate cake, lollipops, and Swiss cheese? Definitely not!
• Most caterpillars like to eat leaves. Most often, you'll see them munching away on different plants, leaves, seeds and some flowers.
• Unlike us, caterpillars get all the water they need from the greens they eat.
• Sometimes caterpillars eat icky tasting toxins from plants so that predators will not want to eat them.
