Step 1 of 6

Step 1: Materials
Gather the materials needed for this project:
• Chocolate Chip Cookies
• Cupcake Liners
• Cupcake Mix
• Cupcake Pan
• Decorating Kit
• Edible Eyes
• Food Coloring
• Frosting
Note
Details:
• In our Decorating Kit that we got from our local grocery store, there are disposable piping bags and a few shaped metal tips. We used the star tip for this project!
• If you don't have a kit or pre-made piping bags, check out our Sunflower Cupcakes activity where we make our own from a Ziploc bag.
Step 2 of 6

Step 2: Bake Your Cupcakes
• Mix up your batter, fill your cupcake liners, and bake your cupcakes according to the package directions.
• Let cool.
Note
• Does anyone else have a cupcake bandit in their house?
Step 3 of 6

Step 3: Add Food Coloring
• Mix blue food coloring into your frosting until you get a great color!
Step 4 of 6

Step 4: Fill Your Bag
• Set up your piping bag with the star tip (or any that you would like).
• Fill your bag with frosting.
• Tip: Grab a glass if you have one and stand your piping bag inside, rolling the end of the bag down, for easy filling!
Note
• If you don't have a premade piping bag, check out our Sunflower Cupcakes activity where we make our own.
Step 5 of 6

Step 5: Add Frosting
• Gently squeeze the frosting down into the piping bag and twist it at the top.
• Put the tip of the piping bag on the cupcake, start squeezing some icing out (the more you squeeze the bigger your dots will be) then stop squeezing as you pull the tip of the piping bag away from the cupcake in an upward motion.
Step 6 of 6

Step 6: Add Eyes, Cookies, and Enjoy!
• Give each cupcake two eyes.
• Break apart pieces of your chocolate chip cookies and give each cupcake a cookie piece for (or in) his mouth.
• Nom, nom, me love cooookie cupcakes!
